What happens during an online hearing test?
An online hearing test is a guided process that involves playing a series of sounds at varying levels of pitch, volume and frequency. You will be asked to respond by clicking your mouse when you can hear the sound, even if it is very faint. We run through a series of individual tests in both your left ear, and your right ear.
Once the full test is complete, we will provide you with an online report that may help to provide an indication as to whether you are suffering from hearing loss and help you understand the next steps to take.
Are online hearing tests accurate?
Online Hearing Tests are an excellent resource for you to get a better understanding of your hearing health. However, due to the fact that the test is not administered under controlled conditions, results should be viewed as an indication and do not attempt to provide formal diagnosis.
If upon completing our online hearing test, you have any concerns please reach out to our highly skilled team of local audiologists who will be able to help you further understand the process of testing your hearing in a controlled clinical environment.
What will my online hearing test show me?
After completion, our online hearing test will provide you with a high level summary of your results along with recommendations for next steps.
If the test shows that you have any level of hearing loss we will recommend that you book an appointment to speak with one of our audiologists.
My online hearing test said I may have hearing loss. What should I do?
If our online hearing test shows that you have any level of hearing loss, whether mild, moderate or severe, we will provide you with detailed recommendations as to the best next steps in starting your journey to better hearing.
